History
Fulton Peak was established in 1989, due to the frustration of our founder, Simon Bailey, with the apparent lack of pragmatic, usable advice available to people starting, running or growing a business from the 'professionals' who held themselves out as being able to help. Unfortunately, all too often, what you get comes from a text book - and really isn't all that helpful - or creative.
Many strategists develop amazing strategies that sound fantastic and represent great thinking. Unfortunately, the available budget, circumstances and operational team will never be able to deliver the strategy, so money is spent on external advisers, but there is no return on investment. Our approach involves getting to know the business and its resources and market (the stuff our clients already know) and then working with you to develop attainable, realistic strategies that can be implemented by the team you have - and therefore truly deliver a return on your investment with us.
We have experience in both public and private sectors, with private and public companies and not for profit entities. We've worked in a broad range of industries from manufacturing and software development to horticulture and professional services. We have extensive tendering, negotiation and facilitation experience - and a host of happy clients who have been able to get where they wanted to go. We've worked in most parts of the world.

Principal
Simon Bailey
Simon has spent the past thirty years in a range of executive management (CEO, COO, MD, GM) and Board roles, strategic advisory engagements, training & facilitation roles in both private and public sectors. His experience spans Information Technology, manufacturing, science & medicine, law, HR & recruitment, local state & federal government, banking & finance, commercialization, venture capital, transport, agriculture & horticulture, phytopharmaceuticals, disability, hospitality & catering and retail franchising.
His focus during that time has been on organisational optimization and restructure – getting the best out of people and organisations in a sustainable fashion. This has sometimes involved returning organisations that have slowed down or collapsed to their former glory and, on other occasions, gaining the full synergies from an acquisition path. It has included corporatisation of public sector entities, creating hybrid public/private sector collaborations, mentoring C-Tier executives and new Board members. He has also established, and continues to run, a number of SMEs.
